Replacement of the English teachers at the European School
Replacement of English teachers at the European School
The UK government has confirmed that it will not replace English teachers leaving the European school system and that it will not accept any extensions to existing detachment contracts for the next school year [1] [2]. The Parents Association was informed that the ES Varese has anticipated the decision mainly by proposing local contracts to the leaving teachers of the section and by finding native speakers qualified teachers for the remaining places. We will obviously keep an eye on the situation and specifically on the evaluations in order to maintain a high level of education. Together with the European School parents’ representatives we will still continue to ask the Board of Governors and the European Commission to find solutions in order to solve these problems at the highest level so as to give the European Schools the academic standard they should have, with a high level of education and teaching done by native speakers.
07/03/2013 AGSEV meets the school which confirmed the possibility of local contracts to the leaving teachers of the section and the availability of native speaker candidates, qualified for the new places for the next school year.
