(Per l’italiano, vedi sotto) On Thursday evening, 1 July, P5 students celebrated their graduation as they got ready to move on to Secondary School. Each language section had their own individual ceremony, led by their teacher and Primary Acting Director Nelly Gastineau. Director Ariane Farinelle was also in attendance.

Students who gathered laughed, and giggled and clutched at their graduation caps throughout the speeches by Ms. Gastineau and their teachers, as they waited to hear their names called and collect their diplomas.

The ceremony gave us the long missed opportunity to see fellow parents and to express our gratitude to our children’s exceptional teacher for all her hard work and dedication

It’s no surprise that this has been another strange year, full of often unpleasant surprises, but the students have amply proved their resilience, flexibility and perseverance by meeting the challenges, while preparing to take the big step into secondary school.

As the sun went down during the last ceremony of the day, for the French language section, all the children, parents and school staff were delighted to say that yes, we’ve done it, and we’re all looking forward to what next year will bring.

It was great to have the chance to see the other parents and children actually inside the school grounds for this special occasion. It was a long time coming!

Con i diplomi in mano, la P5 dice addio alla Primaria

Giovedì sera, 1 luglio, gli studenti e le studentesse delle P5 hanno festeggiato il diploma e sono pronti a passare alla scuola secondaria. Ogni sezione linguistica ha avuto la propria cerimonia, affiancata dall’insegnante di classe e dalla direttrice della Primaria Nelly Gastineau. Anche la direttrice Ariane Farinelle era presente.

Gli studenti e le studentesse erano allegri e ridanciani, stringevano i loro tocchi di laurea nell’attesa di essere chiamati a ritirare il diploma, durante i discorsi della signora Gastineau e dei loro insegnanti.

La cerimonia ci ha dato l’opportunità, a lungo mancata, di vedere i colleghi genitori e di esprimere la nostra gratitudine all’eccezionale insegnante dei nostri figli per tutto il suo duro lavoro e la sua dedizione.

Non è una sorpresa che questo sia stato un altro anno strano, pieno di sorprese spesso spiacevoli, ma gli studenti hanno ampiamente dimostrato la loro resilienza, flessibilità e perseveranza affrontando le sfide, mentre si preparavano a fare il grande passo nella scuola secondaria.

Mentre il sole tramontava durante l’ultima cerimonia della giornata, per la sezione di lingua francese, tutti i bambini, i genitori e il personale della scuola erano felici di dire che sì, ce l’abbiamo fatta, e siamo tutti in attesa di ciò che il prossimo anno porterà.

È stato bello avere la possibilità di vedere gli altri genitori e i bambini all’interno della scuola per questa occasione speciale. E’ stato un lungo periodo di tempo!
